Flagship Edition Government Host B2B & B2G
Inaugural Prague
Business & Trade Forum
πŸ“ Prague, Czech Republic  Β·  November 2025

About This Edition

The Inaugural Prague Business and Trade Forum marked the formal launch of the EUBTF as a structured trade-mission platform connecting European and Southeast Asian business delegations. Hosted at the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, the event brought together pre-qualified delegates from the Philippines and Central Europe for two intensive days of government presentations, sector briefings, and B2B meetings.

The Philippine Embassy in Prague served as a key diplomatic facilitator, enabling introductions at the highest institutional level β€” a precedent that set the tone for all future EUBTF editions. Delegates were briefed on Czech trade policy, investment frameworks, and sectoral readiness of European markets before entering pre-arranged one-on-one sessions.

Programme Highlights

  • Welcome address by the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic
  • Sector briefings covering Energy, Agri-Food, Manufacturing, and Healthcare
  • Pre-arranged B2B sessions in industry-specific breakout rooms
  • Courtesy reception at the Philippine Embassy in Prague
  • Industrial facility tours
  • Signed Letters of Intent between 4 pairs of delegate companies

Key Outcomes

This edition demonstrated that pre-arranged, pre-briefed introductions dramatically outperform traditional networking events. Delegates arrived knowing who they were meeting and why β€” removing the friction that normally slows international business introductions. Feedback from all sectors was overwhelmingly positive, directly leading to the expansion of the programme to include Switzerland in 2026.

"The pre-arranged format completely changed how we approach international business. We walked into every meeting with purpose β€” and left with signed letters of intent."

Pilot Edition Joint Economic Committee
Manila Business
Meeting
πŸ“ Manila, Philippines  Β·  2024

About This Edition

The Manila Business Meeting served as the founding pilot for what would become the EUBTF series. Organized as a satellite event alongside the Joint Economic Committee (JEC) Meeting held in Manila, the mission brought a curated European delegation to the Philippines to explore bilateral investment and trade opportunities.

Delegates represented prominent European companies including INGOS, Machinery Brno, and the CREA Hydro & Energy cluster. The programme included targeted B2B sessions and guided visits to high-potential business locations across the Manila metropolitan area, giving European delegates first-hand exposure to Philippine industrial and commercial capacity.

This pilot edition validated the EUBTF concept: that structured, pre-arranged introductions β€” rather than open-floor networking β€” produce measurably better outcomes for cross-border business development. The learnings directly shaped the design of the inaugural Prague Forum the following year.

Programme Highlights

  • Attendance at the Joint Economic Committee meeting as part of the official programme
  • B2B sessions at designated Manila business venues
  • Guided visits to industrial estates and commercial zones with high foreign investment potential
  • Introductions to Philippine government economic bodies
  • Delegation dinner hosted by Philippine trade officials
  • Expansion briefings on SEA market entry for CREA Hydro & Energy

Significance

This edition established the working relationship between the EUBTF team and Philippine government trade offices β€” a relationship that enabled the Philippine Embassy in Prague to become an active diplomatic partner in all subsequent European editions.

"Manila opened doors we didn't even know existed. The site visits gave us a ground-level understanding of the Philippine market that no report ever could."
β€” European Delegate, Manila Business Meeting 2024 Β· Energy Sector
